A Political Science Lecturer with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has cautioned the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to take the bull by the horns and build an effective campaign team with a manager that can bring back the party into power in 2016.
Dr. Richard Amoako Baah in an interview on Peace FM’s Midday Bulletin stated that the NPP currently has a divided front and to patch the cracks up, advised Nana Akufo Addo to name a campaign manager who possess the ability to unity every party member.
Although Nana Addo is yet to name his campaign manager, names such as; Dan Kwaku Botwe, Boakye Agyarko, Stephen Ntim, John Boadu and Mr. Peter Mac-Manu have popped up and speculations are rife that one of the above-mentioned candidates would be honoured with the post of campaign manager.
Considering the calibre of candidates to choose from, Dr. Amoako Baah believes Nana Addo would be in a tight corner settling on a particular candidate.
However, the Political Science lecturer maintains that “Nana Addo must pick the right people than others who would bring a lot of trouble to him”.
Despite the quality each of the candidate brings, Dr. Amoako Baah insists Nana Addo could be doomed forever if he errs by picking a wrong campaign manager.
Amongst the names that have popped up, Mr. Peter Mac-Manu looks likely to be selected and should that happen, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah is optimistic he would perform a yeoman’s job.
“Although Mac-Manu is known as an Alan supporter, he gave his all to support Nana Addo when he was elected flagbearer. He has what it takes to perform excellently”, Dr. Amoako Baah opined.
